Hi, friends!

Can you believe it's been a month since I started the #CommsJobs Newsletter? During that time, we are up to ~1,330 subscribers and I've tracked ~580 roles in that time.

To celebrate, here’s what the data is telling me:

  • About 18 roles per day. Monday and Thursday are the busiest posting days. Wednesday is the slowest. If you're applying, mid-week is when inboxes are calmer.

  • 382 unique titles across 481 roles with real data. "Communications Manager" was the most common with 23 of them. "Director of Communications" and "Communications Coordinator" tied for second.

  • The middle of the pyramid is where the hiring is. Manager and Director roles together made up 45% of everything tracked. Head of, VP, and Chief roles were just 6%. Three VP postings in a month. Zero CCO postings. Senior leadership is not hiring through LinkedIn.

  • Strategy is the #1 named capability. Mentioned in 74 postings. Writing came in 5th. Hiring managers assume you can write. They want to know what else you bring.

  • AI fluency is now in the job ads. 17 postings explicitly asked for it. Small share, but real and growing fast. A year from now, this won't be optional.

  • External / PR roles lead by specialty (45 mentions). Internal Comms is close behind (39). Then Corporate (22), Digital and Social (19), Marketing Comms (18), Exec Comms (17). The hybrid marcomm role is alive and well.

  • 13 posts said ‘DM me’ with no public listing. The “hidden market” is still doing real work. Networks matter.

Take all this with a pinch of salt, though. This is what I captured from my feed on LinkedIn, not the whole market.

Anyway, see below 60+ new #CommsJobs for your awareness.

Pass this on if it's useful. Enjoy.

OK, bye!

Daniel
